powerdyne pulley swap

Hey i'm about to throw the 2.7" pulley on the ol' PD, Is there a recommended procedure for the swap? I have a shorter belt that sstock gave me.

No biggie, just remove the center bolt and pull off pulley. It has a retangular "key" on it so don't lose it. If it doesn't want to come off by hand gently tap it. If you have a puller use it, but it will come off fairly easily, at least mine did. Then enjoy the extra power. :tu:

Umm ok here's a dumb question. How do i keep the pulley from spinning when i'm trying to break the bolt loose? I left the belt on, and I'm turning over the whole damn engine when i try to loosen the bolt.

Put pressure on the belt with your hand and then the bolt should break loose. The bolt isn't that tight, at least on mine. Once you break the bolt loose, take the belt off and remove the bolt. Keep me up on your venture, as it really isn't that bad.

Dont tell anyone but I used a big pipe wrench to hold the pulley.LOL

ARRRRRRRRRRGH!

I took another whack at it tonight.

I broke the bolt loose, but i couldn't get any slack to get the belt off. So i put the bolt back in so i could use it turn the pulley to work the belt off.

Of course once the belt was off, the pulley bolt was tightened a ridiculous amount, and i couldn't get the bastard out again.

So i yelled and screamed and cursed and i put the damn belt back on and I'm just gonna go to pepboys tomorrow and pay em a couple bucks to swap it for me with the impact wrench. I guess i installed the tensioner wrong, because its impossible to get any useful amount of slack in the belt.

litng1: if i had a pipe wrench i damn sure would have used it

:Y

Pepboys wanted 35 bucks to do it

I guess i'll just unbolt the tensioner so i can take the belt off without turning the pulley.

I need to make friends with someone who owns an impact wrench.
