I've seen this somewhere before. I have some cracking in the channels
on the top of the cab. Is that going to get worse? Should it go back to
the dealer?? I dread that. Anybody have some advice??
Id take it back to the dealer and see if it is covered. I have the door crack and the top water channels have always been cracked. There is a TSB on the door crack and should be fixed under warranty.
The door crack is actually a stress fracture in the metal of the door, up around the window. Mine is about 1/4 in from the back edge of the glass to the edge of the door. It hasnt gotten worse so I havent had it fixed yet. Ill post pics
No I haen't seen them yet. By the way was that you out front of the Red Octopus Tattoo shop Monday night. Passed by while I was limping my truck up to JJ's shop.
Later...
I had the same problem with my 97 F-150. They did a half a$$ job on it too. The paint will start to flake if you leave it be. I felt the same way you do! I also had a rear window that kept leaking also. After some investigating I found a kink/dent on the right side of the cab below the window and just covered by the bed. I had suspected that I had a structural problem with the cab which is why the paint cracked and the window leaked. (I had not heard of any other cases at the time) I also had the door crack which turned into a nightmare. I had a custom paint job and For would not paint the door to match. Took them over a month and a half and three tries to match the paint. Havn't looked at the L yet, I've seen black doors that were repainted about 10yrs later and they don't match. Good luck!!
Not me. I think someone works there that owns a Black 01. Seen it there a few times.
I guess I'll keep an eye on the crack to see if they get larger. It scares me thinking about taking this truck back to the Gomers at Ron Bortnick to paint.
