what does it mean when your off light is flashing

Somethings wrong with your transmission. Unhook the battery for 30 mins, and see if it stops. If it does, drive it around for awile and see what it does. If it comes back on, better get to a trans shop

It can also mean your bulb has a short in it. Mine did this. You simply go to Ford and get the replacement for $10 or so. The end snaps off the shift lever and the bulb assembly slides out and replace it with the new one. I hope thats the problem. Is the tranny acting funny?

thanks guys.. The tranny is shifting ok just the light is blinking it came on when i was going over to ft lauderdale and it fine maybe i should go put a computer up to it and see what the coed is...thanks

Definetly get it read out, could be something serious or not. It might reveal a simple $50 fix or a more expensive one in the near future.

I had the same thing happen a couple of months ago. Turned out to be a bulb. No sweat, okay maybe there was a little until found out what it was

ok went over to the ford dealer here in Ft Myers Fl and they hooked a puter up to it and it was a piston in the tranny that was loosing pressure shifting from 2 to 3 so i left it there and they said it will be under 100 buck to fix thank god
