I've had my autometer triple gauge pod and mechanical water temp, oil pressure, and amps gauges for a while now and every time I go out to my garage to install them in my Lightning I end up just sitting there thinking "Man, do I really want to drill holes in my firewall, I'll hold off and do it later!" I've never had a problem installing in my mustangs? Do you guys have any pics of a finished installation?I think that would motivate me. I feel like I'm doing surgery LOL!!!
Thanks, John

If you don't want to drill holes in the firewall, there is big rubber grommet underneath the carpet on the floor (near the kick panel) on both sides of the cab. Just cut a small hole and run the wires through there and up the inner fenderwell. However, I don't think you'll be able to run the mechanical water temp gauge through that way since it won't reach that far.

John, I feel your pain... I had the same predicament when I installed my stereo, and had to run my 4 gauge power wire as well as mount the box...Here's what ya do..

Look on the firewall by the brake booster.. There's a plate there that bolts on..If the truck was a 5 speed the clutch master cylinder would have been mounted there..Run ALL you wires and lines through that. If in the future you want to take it all out, all you have to do is go to the junk yard and pull one off a F-150(dang near any year) and bolt it on...Possibly need paint on it..

When I do my gauges I plan on doing that, and that's where I ran my 4 gauge power wire..It should be about the perfect place to run your lines too!!

Like Struck said, that's a good place to run the lines. I drilled a hole thru mine and ran my water temp and oil pressure lines thru it. Worked very well.
