Oil pressure sensor

I’m about to add an oil pressure sensor to my PxS and plan on using Pin43, their WBO2-2 sensor input which I’m not using. The factory harness has a pin at 43 already labeled “A/C Panel Input”. I’ve already checked with Stinger and they don’t use that input unless using WBO2-2, so my question is…

Is there anything else in the factory harness that could possibly use this wire still? I’m guessing maybe it was used for idle speed up when the A/C would cycle on the factory ECM.

Just want to make sure I’m not disconnecting something and making more problems for myself.

I can't help ya on the pin info...but I can advise to get an extra sensor if you are going to enable the oil pressure safety.. Because when it fails, it will eventually, you will be stuck where you are until a flat bed comes to get ya...been there done that

That's one drawback with the distributor-less setup, the engine will still run if you break an oil pump driveshaft or drive gear. The EFI system (at least Megasquirt) only uses the cam signal on startup after that you can lose the cam signal and the engine will still run. Another been there done that :)

I don't recall what pin I used on the red truck for oil pressure.

On the white truck, I used the CAN gauge to relay the pressure to the ECU.

I experimented with both the fuel pressure and oil pressure safety systems and eventually stopped using them. Those signals/sensors have enough weirdness in them that outliers (or failures) seem to happen, which then causes hard-to-figure-out intermittent problems. Even just using the flashing warning alerts on the gauge for them got to be seriously annoying. So, I'm back to being blissfully ignorant unless I'm data logging or specifically looking at those outputs (which I do on occasion).

Well my plan for using Pin43 "A/C Panel Input" didn't work because there isn't a wire there. I've moved Pin45 "MAP sensor" over the Pin43 now. Just need to run wires to the new oil pressure sensor now.

I'm wondering if I can use all 3 wires from the factory MAP sensor harness to the oil pressure sensor now? Is the MAP sensor a 0-5V sensor? It looks as if it is on the wiring schematic. Would make wiring much simpler to do it that way if possible.

Our MAP sensor is frequency based, I am trying to remember, but I do believe it uses a VREF of 5V. Just check to see what that pin is assigned to in Tuner Studio and you should be good to set that up for the oil pressure sensor and provide the calibration.

According to the above wiring diagram MAP uses 26 for VRef, and 46 for SIG RET just like the EGR which I've already used for a fuel pressure sensor along with the input on Pin33 for the signal. Using those pins for VRef and SIG RET I should be good with using Pin45 "MAP sensor" moved over to Pin43 for the PxS WBO2-2 that isn't used in my application.

Confirmed… I used the existing MAP sensor wiring and re-pinned Pin45 (MAP sensor) to Pin43 (WBO2-2) on the PxS, setup the sensor in TS and it’s working perfectly. I used a RIFE 150psi sensor… probably could have used a 100psi, but I’m thinking ahead if I ever replace the pump with a HP unit. Had 49-50psi on cold start, and only dropped to 45-46psi after getting up the temp so I’m happy!

MAP sensor wiring is as follows:
Brn/Wht = 5VDC +
Gry/Red = 5VDC -
Light Grn/Blk = MAP input signal
