This came across my desk, and it caused me to pause and think . . . . .

It was 1987!

At a lecture the other day they played an old news video of Lt. Col.Oliver North testifying at the Iran-Contra hearings during the Reagan Administration. There was Ollie in front of God and country getting the third degree, but what he said was stunning!

Some senator was drilling him; "Did you not recently spend close to $60,000 for a home security system?"

Ollie replied,"Yes, I did, Sir."

The senator continued, trying to get a laugh out of the audience," Isn't that just a little excessive?"

"No, sir," continued Ollie.

"No? And why not?" the senator asked.

"Because the lives of my family and I were threatened sir"

"Threatened? By whom?" the senator questioned.

"By a terrorist, sir" Ollie answered

"Terrorist? What terrorist could possibly scare you that much?"

"His name is Osama bin Laden, sir" Ollie replied.

At this point the senator tried to repeat the name, but couldn't pronounce it, which most people back then probably couldn't. A couple of people laughed at the attempt. Then the senator continued. "Why are you so afraid of this man?" the senator asked.

"Because, sir, he is the most evil person alive that I know of", Ollie answered.

"And what do you recommend we do about him?" asked the senator.

"Well, sir, if it was up to me, I would recommend that an assassin team be formed to eliminate him and his men from the face of the earth."

The senator disagreed with this approach, and that was all that was shown of the clip.

The senator turned out to be none other than Al Gore.

Imagine if he were president right now.

injured 200 U.S. military personnel; Clinton promised that those responsible
would be hunted down and punished.

After the 1998 bombing of U.S. embassies in Africa, which killed 224 and injured
5,000; Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and
punished.

After the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole, which killed 17 and injured 39 U.S.
sailors; Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and
punished.

Maybe if Clinton had kept his promise, an estimated 4,000 people in New York and
Washington, D.C. that are now dead would be alive today.

AN INTERESTING QUESTION:

This question was raised on a Philly radio call-in show. Without casting
stones, it is a legitimate question. There are two men, both extremely wealthy.
One develops relatively cheap software and gives billions of dollars to charity.
The other sponsors terrorism. That being the case, why is it that the Clinton
Administration spent more money chasing down Bill Gates over the past eight
years than Osama bin Laden?

THINK ABOUT IT!

It is a strange turn of events. Hillary gets $8 Million for her forthcoming
memoir. Bill gets about $12 Million for his memoir yet to be written. This from
two people who have spent the past 8 years being unable to recall anything about
past events while under oath.

Gold Star Mothers is an organization made up of women whose sons were killed in
military combat during service in the United States armed forces. Recently a
delegation of New York State Gold Star Mothers made a trip to Washington, DC to
discuss various concerns with their elected representatives.

According to NewsMax.com there was only one politician in DC who refused to
meet with these ladies. Can you guess which politician that might be? Was it New
York Senator Charles Schumer? Nope, he met with them. Try again.

Do you know anyone serving in the Senate who has ever had anything but contempt for our military?

Do you happen to know the name of any politician in Washington whose husband
once wrote of his loathing of the military? Now you're getting warm! You got it!
None other than the Queen herself, Hilary Clinton. She refused repeated requests
to meet with the Gold Star Mothers. Now --- please don't tell me you're
surprised. This woman wants to be president of the United States --- and there
is a huge percentage of the voters who are eager to help her achieve that.

Thanks for the post!! It was not my intent to start a Gore/Clinton/Bush debate. Reality is people probably have their mind made up anyway and don't want to be confused with facts.

The source I received the information from is generally right on target.

On the lighter side, I exhaustively researched the site about auto legends, and there was no mention of the urban legends which are associated with TALON, so I guess that must be true
