January 12, 2002, spots are available.
Let's get together and have some fun!
From Thunderhill's web site:
The typical street school begins at 7:30 a.m. with registration and a brief safety inspection of the vehicles at the track. At 8:30 all drivers attend an orientation meeting where the purpose of the course and the rules of Sports Car Club of America track control are explained.
Students are organized into three groups depending on desire, ability and the performance capability of the vehicle.
Students tour the track with instructors to learn the proper line around the course. Throughout the day each of the groups rotate driving the track in twenty minute sessions. An SCCA instructor rides in the passenger seat in groups A and B.
The groups meet throughout the day to discuss their experiences and fun.
At the end of the day, the track provides free food and beverage as part of the "graduation ceremony". Students are evaluated and encouraged to pursue future Street Schools or move into SCCA Club activities (www.sfrscca.org).
Thunderhill Park offers High Performance Street Schools throughout the year. The fee per student is $195 which includes lunch, t-shirt, and snacks. Helmets are required for drivers and can be rented at the track.
For more information or to obtain registration forms call (530) 934-5588.
