No one in the 10s??

MO351

You're getting sleepy....
Is there really no one on the board that's running 10s? I guess you figure once you get to the 11s, heck shoot for 7s!!!! LOL 'Course Ralph and Marcus are lookin' for 9s. Soooooo where's the 10s?

I know i've heard of several trucks in the 10s, but i guess they are too busy working on their trucks to post on the forum :)

Well until I have a timeslip in hand I can't say anything, but that is what I am shooting for.

:eek:Speaking of 10 second trucks, do you guys remember Norman Briggs from Delray Beach, Florida? Well, just in case you dont remember, he has a 9 second lightning that is now getting front - halfed. Norman says he should weigh about 3500lbs. Norman was running 9.38@ 142 up to a few months ago. So, I guess Norman is hoping for a 8second time slip. :m
We are now getting Ralph Voorhees ready to run some 8 second passes. We are shooting for April 7th as a test date. I hope the two of them meet up at Moroso so we can send Norman back on the trailer again;t
I am really glad to see other people stepping up and shooting for some real fast times.
Remember, Drive Safe Everyone..

Hi Jason,

Will 'we' have the honor of your presence @ WFC5? If so, do you have any race team shirts available? I tried to buy one @ WFC3, but they were not available yet.

Have a GREAT SEASON!:tu:

Jake...

Yea there are alot more Lightnings out there then just us on the NLOC hehe.
Yep Im shooting for 9s and I know 10s should not be to hard with the motor Im using.Plus this is a full street truck AC/heat/not gutted etc...
Might have to get another GEN1 and make it full on race to run with some of you big dogs hehe.

Marcus,
I think its great your wanting to go fast. I will bet 100.00 that says you will shoot for 9's soon after you reach your 10 second goal. Speed is like a drug ,you cant get enough of it.
Your a great guy and I wish you the best.
Let me know how it works out for you.
:w Jason Brown

Jake,
Its too early to tell if I can make it to World Ford Challenge this year. I really enjoyed myself at the two events I raced . I really enjoy meeting all the club members too. But, the cost of racing the truck and traveling that far makes me think twice. I just wish the they had a bigger 1st and 2nd place prize[$] That would make it worth driving 29 hrs and the cost of racing ...
Maybe as the lightning becomes more popular and more people race, there will be larger prize in the future. I dont want to sound like a complainer, its just a matter of dollars and sense:p
Best of luck and I will let you know what I decide in the near future..........
:w Jason Brown;)

Ok, this is off topic, but maybe Jason will think it's funny..

I had a dream lastnight that you put me in charge of watching over your truck at a Walmart(I know weird), and I thought it couldn't hurt for me to just take it a couple times around the block(yeeehaaa)... Well on that block there was a Viper,Ferarri, and a bunch of built up Mustangs...And well we had a stop light to stoplight race, which I lost, mainly because I put the hammer down with the turbo's spooled, and never moved because it was just sitting there smoking the tires for a couple minutes..

I know it's a weird dream, but it was really cool..I got to drive Jason's truck, if only in my dreams :)

Curt, you really need to lay off the Pop Tarts and beer after 10:00... ;)

A buddy told me he saw a Gen 1 truck running mid 10s in Texas last week. I don't know the name of the track, but this guy lives in Longview, so somewhere in that area.

I'm hoping to get high 10s on street tires out of mine, but since I feel that's pretty much the limit of streetability, and my truck will always be a real street truck (no gutting, keeping both tanks, towing with it, etc) instead of a race truck, that's about as far as I'm going to go.

Curt,
 Wow, What a dream.....What have you been eating with you cheerios in the morning ????? ROTFLMAO
Maybe you just forgot that you had the line-lock button engaged. Next time let go of the button before the light changes.
I still have a dream also. That would be to race a pro-5.0 guy in the near future....and Win  of course
I would love to see the look on the persons face when the truck gets the win-light!!!!!!!:Y :Y :Y ;t
That would be so cool....to kick some pro-5.0 butt:tu:
Jason Brown:D :w

i know of 2 ten sec trucks in the north east area. one is a freind of mine that runs 10.90's and the other ive heard of from a bunch of people in the maple grove area a year or so back. suposably he tows his 8 sec stang to the track then runs a pass in the tow vehicle, his L, and rips a 10.20 off. never saw it but countless people have told me about this person. anyone know him?

That would be Cool Jason if they would let you run against a PRO 5.0.Man I hope you make it to the WFC this year since watching your truck run is the Highlight of my trip!

Hey Jason is there anyway I can ride in the passenger seat sometime in the 1/4?I will pay for it hehe.

Maybe we could all pitch in a few bucks and get ol' Jason up here to WFC 5 (just a thought). Surely there's a way to get someone like Chuck Samuel or Billy Glidden or someone to run him. I'd bet they wouldn't want to pass up the chance either :tu: . Anybody got their email address??? hehe;t

Hey LightningJoe, your friend would happen to be Charlie Guilbault? If so tell him I said HI! My name is Dominic from NJ. I bought his bogart wheels off of him. Tell him my truck should be in the tens once I get my combo done.

Fast Trucks

Hey, i think that guy Lightning Joe is talking about is Jim D'Amore from Freehold, New Jersey. Jim had a 95' Black Lightning that ran 10.30's but he sold it & Parted out the Race Parts. Jim D'Amore is now running a Black 99' Lightning with (NOS) looking to go 10.60's...

There is also a guy named Tommy who works at Larroca's Performance in Old Bridge, New Jersey who has a White 94' Lightning. He ran a 11.20 with a Paxton NOVI 2000 SuperCharger & stock Bottom End. He now Sports a 383 Stroker like me but is running a Pro Charger D3M SuperCharger. He claims he will run 9.20's but every time he looks to go Racing something else Brakes.

Sal Mennella from (PSP) told me that he is looking to go into the 10's this year also. Sal went 11.20 at Cecil County, Maryland at the end of the 2001 Season.(New York)

I haven't talked to James Calhoun in a while but last I spoke with him he was going for Low 10's - High 9's Soon, Maybe that was his truck in Texas Jeff??

Marcus Harrison is a Great Competitor & a Gentleman. I have been in his Shadows with the Powerdyne Truck & Now he's looking for 9's like me.:D Marcus all I can say is good Luck & I know that truck is going to be FAST....:D (KY)

Jeff Sparkman would also probably be in the 10's if he was looking to go with a set of DRAG SLICKS.....I think when Jeff finds out how all that Horse Power he's running dosen't wanna Hook with street tires he'll change his mind & then be in the 10's;) (CA)

* Brian Wilson is going to be in the 9's!!!(MI)

* Jerry from OKlahoma may go 10's with his Black Truck!!!

* Tim Traggardth is building a Chopped Yellow Race Truck, I
think he is looking for 10's with a Paxton NOVI2000

* Dominick from N.J. is looking for High 10's!!!!

*Norman Briggs is going for 8's!!!!!! (FL.)

*Jason Brown (FL.) His New Twin Turbo Set-Up puts him in another
League miles ahead of us SLOW Guys ;) , 6's @ 200+ MPH!!!:tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu:

Jason, you need to come, your truck is the higlight of the event for most of us! I mean no disrespect, but if it isnt worth it for you to come to events like this, why did you build such a bad *** truck? C'mon man you are our hero and we would love to see ya run against a PRo 5.0!!

Hey I bet LightningRalph has all our combos on paper and is keeping track of us LOL.Looks like I might have to sell the little D1 and go for a D3 and no AC hehe.
