12 pounds? man, ya gotta like that :)

P.S. your shop is not near cluttered enough. but i did see a "universal wrench" right next to the lift, so, you get 2 of the 4 points back that you lost for having such a clean shop :p

I cant say much for his wire feed welding but the boy can definitely use a smokewrench...:D

Man, that is one cool garage. How high is your ceiling to have a lift in there. Oh yeah, nice looking hood.

Most of us don't even have houses that big and I could include my yard in that to.

Its hard to keep the mess down because something always going on LOL.
Roof is tad over 12FT tall then goes up into the raffters.Plenty of room to lift a truck all the way up.
Got to have them big wrenches!!!

Marcus,

You don't mind me asking what it cost you for the lift ? I just got a new house with a 2 1/2 car garage with a 46x40 barn. I would like to put one in the barn (Lightning's house) to have for the Lightning. Did you have to do anything to reinforce the floor for the lift ?

Lift was about 3000.00 and its 9000Pound lift. When I built the place I had extra concrete and wire put in where the lift was going.YOu have to unload and install the lift yourself they will not help you.
Your roof will have to be near 12 feet to be able to lift the truck all the way up.I cut a few boards out in the rafters so the cab of truck would not hit.

HOOD?

What brand/ website did you purchase your hood? Let us know if any of the corners are dog eared when on your truck...maybe a pic too! THX

I like that hood. Cirvinis cowl is square thats angled(side of the cowl). Who made it, do you know if they have hinged hoods not just bolt on. Maybe I could swing a bolt on hood, I'd hit my big head on the underside of the hood less when I'm working on my truck. One of the downsides to being tall.

I got the hood from USBody it was right at 400 Dollars and the fit is great.I just set the hood on the truck it does need some sanding on the edges but pretty good over all.
Its not very heavy but its so big its a little ackward(spellcheck) taking off by yourself.

Hey man my GT500 wont be that light will it ????

When you say the edges need sanding, are they too wide?

I've heard that the latches on our metal hoods make spider cracks in fiberglass hoods
a Lightning owner related this to me, but he was kinda full of it lol

Marcus~
It looks great man, I've been wanting to get a cowl over my ram air due to weight as well! My L need to go on a diet, if I am it need to too! LOL :D

BTW~Does anyone know what a Cervini cowl hood weights???

And, does anyone want a already painted black cervinis ram air, and I have the box to make it functional!??!??!;)

Later all!

All I remember about cervinis hoods are that they are heavy, at least the ram air ones are. I got one for a new ford superduty truck at the spring englishtown swap meat and that thing was heavy. Not relly sure how heavy the cowl hoods are though.

One word of advice, DO NOT carry your new hood around in a open area when its windy out. I thought I was going to fly away :m

I dont know if the GT500 comes in a pin on type.If you use your stock hinges and springs then no.
The cervinis are just about as heavy as stock.
The front and back of this hood need light sanding to make smooth.

Shane, when you say "want" on the hood what are we talking about?I am not too concerned about the lbs. factor.Just thinking about a new look for the L. Email is rpbazan@yahoo.com or the board is fine. Thanks
Ron
