New header install.........AAARRGGHH

Has Seller's regret
Wow it is nice to have this site back up. Now to vent!..........

I installed the Hooker headers last week, got started at 11:00 pm and finished at 3:00 Am :( It really wasn't too bad ,untill we went to hook up the collectors. Drivers side was easy. Passenger side bolts would not line up at all. So I went to prying with a crow bar! STUPID IDEA! I fought it untill 3:00 and drove it home with the passenger side open header! Way too loud. I took it to a muffler shop and they said I had bent the header and I had to pull it back off to fix. So I dropped it off at a buddies shop, he pulled it out and said it can't be done. Soooooooooo my alternative was to install the X pipe I have laying around,( the collectors are larger so it will seal) but the cat back bolts are so rusted we stripped them out!!!!!!!!

Now I have to take it to back to the shop, torch out the bolts and try to put the X pipe on and hope it solves the problem. WHEW!

Sorry to vent like this, I have been dying to tell everyone for a week!

Are you going to try to fix the header or do you have to get a new one? I bet the sound was great with open headers though.
Good luck with the outcome. Let us know how it sounds.

that sucks!

OH man, that sucks. I guess you have George doin' the work for ya on the exhaust fix? Man, hope you can get it fixed. You should be able to bend the header collector back. I don't see why you couldn't. I doubt it went very far. Gives ya an excuse to get that X-pipe out of the truck bed and put on. Let me know how it goes. I gotta a 3 day weekend this weekend. Get ahold of me. I wanna see/hear it.
