Need some quick info/advice on Yokohama AVS S/T Tires!!

I got a flat tonight and I happened to be in the complex where Mr Tire is located so I got some prices from them on tires for tomorrow. I found Yokohama AVS S/T's for $214 each, but they are size 285/50R18. Do you think these will be alright?? I would go better but I want 20's so why waste the money. But I do want something that will perform somewhat good and last at least 15,000 hard miles. Any ideas, comments, or suggestions??

Wow, that WAS fast!

I don't mind the lower speed rating so much. I jsut care about how they grab and perform in everyday driving for the next 3-4 months. I guess for the $350-$400 I'd save (I'm gonna get all four since they all need replacing anyway), they're worth it.
