Well I finally ran into a few extra greenbacks to spend on the Lightning :D.I would like to know which mods would I see the most drop in et for about 800.00.I would caugh up a little more but a have just got to get my wheels chromed.I was thinking of doing the powerstroke I/C and Ranchos , then I got to thinking of maybe extrude honed and a little porting on the old GT-40s.So what do you think. Any ideas would be great.;) Also are the Ranchos going to help any with street tires.

I would go with the Ranchos and the intercooler if it were me. A torque converter would also be another consideration. I think you would benefit most with the intercooler on that Vortech and then the Ranchos so you can hook it all up. If have some left get some stickier tires.

Yea thats what I was thinking.I also was thinking about some electric fans. But are they worth the money.Has anyone see any drop in ET with them.

MODS

A cam change would do u some wonders...and eventually some aftermarket aluminum heads....mass air and throttle are only around 200 bucks a piece also.

Whats up Mr. Walls!
Well, I'll tell you, if it were me, here's what I would do or was gonna do;) I'd put the Motorsport A332 cam in there. I dont know if that would work with those 1.7s though. It might be too much on the lift but there is a lot of room with the stock pistons. Then I was looking at a set of Edelbrock Performers #6037s with a stage 1 head job. These 2 things I figured would add about 70hp with the rest of the stuff there. A dyno tune would really be in order now but werent you still gonna do that anyway? I wouldnt fool with mass air. For the money, its not worth it. As long as the cam isnt crazy, a autologic chip can do it all. Good luck and take care of her!

Electric fans are good for maybe a tenth, but they make working on the front of the engine way easier and well worth the money. Just picture about 6" between radiator and engine:D You can also turn them on between races to keep engine extra cool.

Razor: Mass air for $200??? Wouldn't that be nice. A mass air conversion runs around $1000 for the Lightnings. Remember, all 93-95 GEN 1's are speeddensity. It's also not worth it. You can get the EEC Tuner for around $350 and you'll never need mass air. Or a custom chip like K_walls has from PSP.

Stay speeddensity. Like mentioned you can get a different, speeddensity friendly cam or if you change to a bigger cam you can get the EEC tuner to take of the tuning. Also the Lightning's are flat tappet, not roller.

Hows it been going Mr. Starr. Yea I thought about doing the cam and heads ,but Im not quite ready to tear into it YET.I think with the I/C and the Ranchos I should be able to dip into the 12s.Then Ill be happy for a while.:D I think my next project will be c-notching the frame and slaming it to the ground with a set of 22s.What do you think.;) Just kidding.Yes, it is being taken care of.Ill have to take some pics sometime and e-mail them to you.Ive done a few little thing to the exterior but nothing to major.
