Now that I looked up the Boss 429 hood scoop; it's not wide enough for EFI on the '80s Crown Vics. And that's because I stayed with EFI when putting in the 351W/5.8L. Most others would have converted to a carb setup for that reason. I also errored 2x; 1st error was basing the hole in the hood off of the stock 5.0L EFI intake for the Crown Vic. The stock upper intake is lower and wider than the Trick Flow intake. The 2nd error was the assumption that the 351W would be 3" taller than the 8.2 deck 5.0L. With the aftermarket heads, intake, and spacer; it's more like 5" taller. I have to mess with the air intake elbow at the throttle body, as it is being crushed by the hood bracing.
