My experience with JDM

I recently purchased a Lightning. Before I started modifiying it I did some research. I talked to a couple of tuners who have been working on my cars, MTI & Lingenfelter, they both recomended JDM. I spoke with Julie and she was very friendly and helpful over the phone. I explained I wanted to go in steps, so I could feel the difference each step made. I already had a air intake and Bassani cat back. I ordered the JDM long tubes, high-flo cats, boost bypass and a line mod. I have a pretty good seat of the pants dyno, those long tubes woke that truck up. Today I called JDM and spoke with Jim. He was very helpful and we talked about where I needed to end up. He just didn't try to sell me a bunch of parts, but set me up with a great combination that will work for me. Great people to deal with.

SW,
Glad to hear that you were happy with JDM, they have always treated me great. You have a very nice list of toys, I see the viper outside and one of the supra's in the garage. Very nice:D

Thanks. Do you have a website with pictures of your truck? It looks real nice.

JDM Service

I have been dealing with Jim and the JDM crew for about a year now. They are a first class operation and I'm lucky to live @ two hours south of his shop. Jim has opened up his home for me to stay the night and even arranged that I had transportation while my truck was being worked on. I can't say enough about Jim and his staff....they are by far the best!!!!

Kevin

:D :D :D :D :D

I have known about JDM engineering for 2 years now...
I have spoken to Jim on numerous occasions...
He is a wonderful person...
He is my daughters Godfather...
He lettered in 3 sports his senior year in high school...
He was vice president of the student council...
In college his thesis on anti-matter got him considered for the nobel prize...
He is a pillar of his community...
He has never promised me anything and did not come through...
In fact, (sniffle), I love him and have a picture of him over my bed!

Hey SW,
Don't be thinking your truck is faster than mine :p Well....not yet anyway. I might swing by and check out your truck tomorrow. Got some Q's about the install too. FWIW, my truck is still in pieces waiting to be painted :(

Jim has allways treated me great too.

There are guys a lot closer to me that I could get work done at. It is worth the 4.5-5 hour drive to have Jim work on my truck.

the crew at JDM

I must say that all the guys and gals at JDM have been extremely helpful. I am still in shock over the way my truck runs w/ the very simple bolt ons I have done. I am one of those guys that questions everything to death and the JDM crew is always patient and answers all my questions completely. I am far from done with my truck and will look to no one else but JDM to reach my goals. Btw Streetking if your looking for any new friends I'll be glad to come to Austin and hang out, but only if you let me drive your toys!!!;)

Bulldog,

You're so sensitive, LOL.:D

P.S. JDM is always there when I have a question or need a part. Jim took care of my cold weather (winter gas) pinging problem in a hurry. I have nothing but good things to say about JDM.:D :D

Hey Street..what kinda drop do you have on that truck, and are those 99-00 style wheels 18s or 20s? Great looking truck (and one hell of a great toy collection)

'02 Lighting
'95 T72 Supra(9.81@153.5)
'99 FRC 422(9.74@146.1)
'99 FRC MTI
'97 Supra TT
'97 Viper GTS
'93 502SS(red)
'76 T/A 400 4sp

Impressive array of toys. One thing though, if you own a Lightning you have to spell it right. For those that drive lesser vehicles misspelling is allowed for they know not.

Hello Streetking! I see you are a fellow c5 man! I really love my 2000 coupe, but the Lightning sure is more practical! Do you post on Corvetteforum any? I haven't seen any posts from you there, it is a really good forum! How do you like the 3/4 drop on your truck? I have been thinking really hard about doing the same to mine, but have heard so many negative posts about the trucks bottoming out the rear suspension so badly. What are your thoughts on the kit and the ride?

Jimmy

2000 black Lightning (just chip for now)
2000 Sebring coupe (Vortex cold air kit)

Yes, I do post in the Corvette forum, I have been a member for a while.

I do like the 3/4 drop, it will bottom out on sharp bumps, but overall I really like it. The ride is great.
