With which one of these would I have trouble with? They are both stock, early 90's. Check my sig for mods.

Shouldn't have much trouble from either. I got beat by a late IROC with a modded 350 by only 2 car lengths and I had almost a full tank of gas and passenger. If they don't have much done you shouldn't have much to worry about whether they've got 305s or 350s.

If you can run with a stock 5.0, you can annihilate those old beaters. Low 15s should give you a win even if they are 350s.

If they are 305s, well then

Running his mouth

I sent him pictures of my truck and the new hood and this is what he had to say.

"There’s nothing here to look at?!!! But I have seen your hood though."

How much HorsePower and torque are these guys pushing???

Just line em up and give us the results afterwards. It's all in fun anyway! Plus, IF you get beat, then that should give you some motivation for your next mod!

good lord...those cars probably cant get out of their own ways! old school f-bodies were the slowest pieces of crap on the road back in their day. you shouldn't have a problem with either one of them.

....unless they're modded of course. i lined up against an older IROC one night at a stoplight and thought I was gonna smoke him, and I got my ass handed to me. turns out he had a stroker motor with heads/cam/intake/carb etc etc. Car looked stock enough....cept for that monster tach on the dash. :D

I say RACE'EM and find out!!!:p Like said before its all for the fun!I have a freind who has a convertable IROC and when ever he stopes travling for work long enought we will line them up"It's only a 305"If you don't win then that will give you something to look forward too after more mods:D

Several years back, I had an 82 Mustang GT. It was stock at the time and ran 15.5s. A friend of mine got a brand new GTA Trans Am with the 350 and I got smoked. It ran consistent 14.8s bone stock. They are all automatics w/the 350 I believe, but they run respectable times. Procede with caution, but, race him anyway.

not completely sure on horse but i know for a fact that the tpi 350 made 345 torque and the 305 tpi was very high 200 range. i took a 305 h code which is the electronic carb deal and with these mods went 13.7 on 16 inch formula rims

headers, catback, small comp cams cam 260 dur. 440 lift, shift kit, rpm intake and edel. carb 600 cfm. it did 13.7 relentlessly consistant and youve got to figure thats faster then the likes of most LT1s. now those simple mods on a 350 would have been low 13's

this was in a total stock loooking 86 TA except for that retarded daytona hood

I guess I shouldn't be so confident, but still race him. This guy just (co-worker) talks lots of BS, I was hoping you guys would tell me I would spank him. We'll see.

Alex

Some of them 350 GTAs run pretty good I would not run my mouth till after the race hehe.
