Magnum power dyno results within-->

Sucks Gas, Hauls *****!
Well, today was the moment of truth. the dyno conditions were less than desirable at 86 degrees and 56% humidity, baro was at 29.85 and falling. I had no time to cool off before the dyno session and just ran the truck hot.

on the 17 degree 93 octane tune I dynoed 424 HP and 505 TQ. A/F's were in the 11.8 -11.6 range when I got done tweaking the tune.

my dyno numbers last november before the magnum were 393 HP and 494 TQ and I checked the conditions of my dyno before and it was 39 degrees 77% humidity and the baro was 30.15. so with the 57 degree difference I think that I have another 20-30HP if I can get a cooled off dyno session.
my gaines over the stock eaton were 20hp from 3500-4000rpm and 40hp from 4000-5200rpm. Tq gains wer 16lb/ft from 35oo-4000rpm and 25lb/ft from 4000-5200rpm. I saw a max pressure of 16lb of boost also.

Over all I am pleased with the results I got 40HP and 16 lb/ft and that is on a hot day. the torque gain was a little lower than I expected. but over all not bad.

did I mention it was loud?
I problably did not need the 60lb injectors or the MAF.ia yet but it sure feels good to have the insurance that I will not run out of MAF voltage(max today was 4.3V) or fuel on a cooler day. now I just gotta get to the track on a cool night and flog this beast.

Not to shabby, what other supporting mods do you currently have? I have the MP myself, and last weekend I went down to VA to Troyer performance and put my truck on the dyno. 1st pull put down 473rwhp and 565rwtq. This was on a bad gas tune and only seeing 10 degrees of timing. That was the best numbers I saw while on the dyno but Mike Troyer was confindent that I would have seen 500+ if my IAT2 temps were lower and I had done my race tune first. But enough about me, congrats and get it to the track.

yes, not being able to dyno tune sucks. maybe I might have to make a trip to do a dyno tune to a vendor when I move out to maryland.

mods are this: MP blower, 6 lb lower, kooks long tubes, high flow cats, custom catback(magnaflow x-pipe, dynomax bullets into stock tips), 160 degree t-stat, e-fans, 60lb SD injectors, MAFia(set to 2), Diablo predator W/ custom tune by James @ RWTD(17 degree 93 octane), EGR delete, FTVB, rancho 58" longbars, metco 14" CAI filter and rubbermaid heatshield:D, NGK TR-6's(.31 gap).

you know I was so concerned with some of the other stuff a/f's and all the other parameters, I never checked the max timing on the dyno, didn't even think that I wouldn't not see 17 degrees. But now that I think about it, I bet it never saw 17 degrees timing since it was so hot. IAT2 temps reached a max of 135 at the end of the runs and I was seeing 16 lbs of boost. MAF voltages maxed out at 4.39 at the end of the run. I ran the dyno like i would on the street/track since i didn't get a dyno specific tune to run it up from 1500 rpm from james.
all my dyno sessions are done is STD. since SAE are for NA vehicles.
like I said should be interesting when it gets cooler out. when I dynoed before the DA was 1500 feet below sea level. today it was at 1900 ft.

I take it you have a few more mods than me? built block yet?

SVT2004Lightnin, I think you probably have a couple more bolt-ons than me:D. (that would be nice to have one day though.) and probably an decent dyno-tune. I am just starting to tweak mine with james.

Yes built lower,
ported heads
crower stage 2 cams
8# lower
MP blower
dynatech LT headers
electric fans/ waterpump also
JL CAI
SBTB

FT stall and some other small stuff.

Here is what it dynoed when I first put the MP on...

and the graph of when I had nitrous....

I am half tempted to put a 8 lb lower on the truck, but I think I will not and just wait and see what the cooler weather brings. I gotta remember that I don't have a built lower end :D:D:D and am already pushing 16lbs of boost through LT's on a hot day :D.

it'll be nice to get a built block.....one day.... :)

I got about same numbers of you with my ported on my 99. 424/507.

6 lower
Mac Catback
Air Raid Intake
90 Mass Air
C and L elbow and plenum
Ported Blower

Seems like the Magnum is only worth it if you have a built lower. Otherwise, its performs like a ported/silencer holes filled Eaton.

How much do these magnums cost?

supeg, i think new they are 1700, I only payed 800 for mine and it was only ran at 2 drag racing events. Plus, I am looking to the future, I am slowly piecing together what I will need when I put a built block in an can push the blower to 20+pounds of boost, I don't think that ammount of boost is reccommended with the ported blowers.

My mods are "in detail".

JLP Longblock including

Ported Heads "lastest design"
JLP Custom Stage III's
JLP Shortblock
Magnum Powers with 2.7 Upper and 9.0 Lower
A very mild tune for now.

The next mod is going to be 32V ported Navi heads.

Resist the temptation to up the lower pulley size. I went from a 6# to an 8# lower on my MP powered truck, and though it pulled better, I lost the motor. I also had the SCT Maf and 2 pumps, plus full exhaust for safety. I was running my 93 octane street tune that I felt was very conservative at 11.8 AF and 16* timing.
I made 449/540 on my winter tune with only 12* timing. Never got the chance to dyno the "hot" street tune or the "race" tune.

I only saw 15#'s boost mainly because the ported heads and aggresive cams. That was with no load on the dyno either. So there is more power in the truck. Im almost to my goal of 550, that will come with race fuel.

You going to PSI? Keep me posted on their tunes if thats where your going. Thinking about ditching the Revolution Chip.

Chad

Yep Chad, I am going to PSI!! I was gonna drop off the truck today, but now not gonna drop it off until next Monday, because of Hurricane Rita, Thats projected in our path, so Patrick, and I decided it would be better just to wait, just incase my truck wouldn't be ready before it hits!!! So a piece of mind for both of us!!! So, next saturday, i will for sure have dyno #'s!! I would deffientely go with PSI, Patrick does some amaxing tuning!! And Blaine is always running some amazing E.T.s!!
