Magnaflow, Edelbrock, Or Spintech

What are you guys running and what do you like? I am looking for a good sound not raspy and little resonance (unlike the Flowmasters I have). I am planning on running side exit with Borla tips. I am afraid the Edlebrock/Magnaflow will sound like a glasspack with there straight thru design. Thanx guys!

I have had two types of mufflers on the truck. Three chamber flows have the problem you refered to. The magnaflow 3 1/2 is much better. Reminds me of a ultraflow without much resonance. Does not sound like a glass pack (thank god).

I also have Magnaflow on my truck. I went with a single Magnaflow that's a 2.5" dual in/dual out w/X-crossover in the center. It sounds NOTHING like glass packs. I had glass packs on my last 351W in a 4x4 I used to have and the Magnaflow sounds much better. Gives a really deep/low tone to the truck. I also have an off-road H-pipe and turndowns on the muffler that dump in front of the axle.

If you go to Edelbrocks website you can hear a soundclip of a Ford 4x4 with a 351. Its not a Lightning, but it might give you an idea what it might sound like.

I run magnaflows also. Mine are dumped off at the rearend and it has a pretty mellow sound. I'm looking for something a little more deeper...I'm gonna change to blowfaster (flowmaster) 40 series.

I dont have the Spintech's on my L but the wife has them on her 01 GT and they sound great! Ive been thinking of trading out the Bassani muff for a Spintech one this summer.....

Part number is #12468 for the Magnaflow 2.5" dual in/dual out. Here's a link to Magnaflow's site: http://www.magnaflow.com/03cat-back/03aluminized/03aluminized.htm
I like it alot. Very nice set up. I carried mine out the door from a local dealer/muffler shop for $70. They wanted $100 or so to put it on. So and friend of mine and I did ourselves.

I'm real impressed with the hooker aerochamber's that I am running. Nice and deep at idle, very little drone, mean as hell at wot. Also i'm running bassani headers and x-pipe. Hope this help's. A lot of compliment's.
