The headers are no 4 hour long job as JDM has stated. After 9 hours the complete set-up is finally on. The truck sounds Awesome and the performance gain is unreal. For anyone wanting to get a complete exhaust go with the longtubes, you will not disapointed.

Congrats Neil! Sounds like a winner. :tu: You went with the dual (louder) mufflers, right? How do like the sound vs. what you had (louder/quieter/deeper/etc.)?

Hey Roger, The dual muffler set-up sounds soo good. The exhaust note is deep, mellow, and pretty loud. It is alot louder than my previous set-up. You may want to go with the single muffler if you don't want to make the neighbors mad every morning;) . The seat of the pants meter tells me that the truck feels like a 1/2 a second faster!! I drove the truck today, check it out( its in the salary lot) .

The inner fenders are still out so that you can see the headers. Actually I left them out so that I can get to the header bolts to keep them tight for a few hundred miles. Take-care--Neil

Glad to hear you got them on and especially glad to hear you like the performance gains. Can't wait to hear how it sounds. I'm close to switching to the JDM headers from the Lightning Performance headers that I have.

headers

neal did yours come with everything?mine are missing the exhaust gaskets, muffler clamps, and the bolts to hook the cats to the headers

Gary, That is funny that you mentioned that...I thought that they had shorted me the header gaskets ,but I tore apart the box that the headers were in and I found them( they were in a envelope taped to one of the cardboard sections. I was also missing 2 clamps and the bolts. You need to buy (6) 3/8x1 1/2" bolts.

Also, cut the heatshield on the pass side to allow room for the O2 sensor. That part was a nightmare. Also, disconnect the wiring for the starter and move the harness out of the way.

You also have to take the oil dipstick completly out.

Don't forget to have a cold case of beer and a package of band-aids for you knuckes and wrist. You may want to keep the garage doors closed as well. I was cussing up a storm and throwing wrenches all day long!! Hope this helps, Call me if you need any help. -Neil (roger has my number)

Neil; glad to hear you like them so much. Now that you know how to put them on how long would it take us to do my truck (w/airtools)? :D :D

Hey Roger, With two of us I'd say no longer than 6 hours. Order those suckers!! I'll help you put them on as long as you supply the beer.

Thanks Neil...I'm still trying to resist spending the $$, but I admit I'm failing fast

If we do it, the beer WILL flow--afterwards :D
