Lil sam

I was looking at your place in the powerdyne 13 second club, and it says your are emissions legal. Do you have the bassani cat pipe. I want to go into the 13s but don't want a truck thats to loud. They are considering passing some emission laws in my county. I was thinking of going with the borla set up ( just have to find one ). Not sure if I want cats or not. I have stock cat pipe now with custom run dual 40 series flowmasters, I just want it a little louder maybe a little deaper. I know the xpipe will be to loud with these mufflers so I'm changing them out. If I can get to 13.5 with a cat pipe I think I will go with that.

Derek, not lil'sam but maybe I can help. I used to run Bassani x-pipe with bassani headers and a borla cat back, this set-up sounded pretty deep, more-so then a flowmaster or any other muffler. But, I sold it because I didn't like the look of the borla and it seems too restrictive. When I changed from stock headers and stock cat pipe, to bassani headers and catless x-pipe, it barely made my truck any louder, but a lot deeper and sounded better. It didn't help my e.t.'s either. Just my .02 Later, Bud

Well, I am NOT emmisions legal! I have the catless x-pipe! I bought it because is was so much cheaper than the cat-x. I figured if I needed to add converters later it wouldn't cost that much to add them later. Hopefully I will be okay for awhile without the cats.

The catless pipe really didn't help you e.t. time? That kinda makes me reconsider getting it. I don't like the look of the borla cat back I just want the muffler, I am going to get a custom system put on. I heard borla has no drone. You said it sounds just a little better than stock than stock even with no cats, I could deal with that. Now it's just a matter of finding the muffler. Thanks for you help. If anything every happen to the L where I have to go into the engine I might stroke mine too.

I don't think there is much of a difference in power between the cat and catless pipes. I was told on here that there was about a 22rwhp gain from adding the catless x-pipe.
