Key to a good tire balance

Man on the edge
I bought a set of Nitto 555's a few weeks ago. Felt a vibration in the whole chasis starting at 85 and getting worse as I got up to speed. Finally got it in to check the balance again. Asked when they got their machines calibrated. He said they just did it and the machine mine were done the fist time on had a bent shaft replaced and was 1oz out to boot. My worst tire was 3oz out insde and 1.5oz outside. They said one machine had 256 miles on it that is a lot of 3sec. balance spins.

I've often wondered myself how often a shop gets their machines calibrated. I went to one of these used tire shops today and got my front wheels balanced...that was a mistake. They stuck about 13 of those little square stick-on weights on one area! And their machine looked like a peice of scrap. My tires are wore out...so I ordered some Goodyear rubber from tirerack.com.

Same here, got mine done on Friday at Weevers in FTW,they were better b4 they balanced them. Going back on Monday to get done again,I'll let ya'll know if they fix them:mad:
