K&N filter for Gen 1 Lightning

I have a 1994 Lightning that had a K&N air filter on it when I bought it. I need to find a new one. The filter that I have is not a direct replacement filter. I think it's called a cone filter.

Does anyone know a part number for this?

I've been to AutoZone and O'Reilly Auto Parts and they looked at some number on my filter and it didn't bring up anything on their computer. They looked up a filter in their computer for a 1994
F-150 w/ a 351 engine, but the only thing they could find is the factory replacement filter.
Any comments are appreciated.

Thanks,
Andrew

All direct replacements that you'll buy at an auto store are flat-panel K&N's. It sound like the previous owner installed an aftermarket air filter assembly. In this case, the easiest ways would be to take measurements on the filter you have now, and search ebay, or go straight to K&N and order a cone filter with those measurements. If the previous owner installed one of the local vendors kits, you may be able to hit up each vendor on this board, see who sells a comparable kit, and see if they can get you just a filter.

Remember that K&Ns are reuseable. Have you tried getting K&N cleaner and cleaning it off? Or is yours just too dirty for that?

My air filter is really dirty and is bent up pretty bad. I do clean it sometimes. I should probably get a new one.

Thanks,
Andrew

Get the measurements and look in a Jegs or Summit catalog and you'll probably find what you need.Jegs has K&N cones listed with the measurements.

Hey guy!!! go to PSP and talk to Sal. You can get a cone filter kit from him or go to Texas Mustang catalog they have the kit also but it cost more. As a matter of fact I am gonna clean mine today
