Just Lurking

Fast 00 R/T
Hey Guy's (girls too?),

Not here to stir up anything. Just a fellow enthusiast and wanted to see how everything's going in the 'L' world.

Yes I drive an R/T Dakota, but am a fan of the L's as well. Hope no one minds if I participate in any discussions. Not a kid and I respect those who give back. Also a veteran (Army) if there're any of you out there.

I'm getting sick of seeing Lightning taillights, so you guys better watch out! Bolting and bolting and am gonna reach the 13.99 mark soon N/A. Then it's the juice or S/C...so hopefully I'll surprise one of you guys with my taillights one day.

Later!

Chris

Chris, Well from a former marine--ok, you're welcome(j/k)! Keep on workin'--you'll get that Dodge honkin'--one day.

Dan

Hey Chris,
Welcome and have fun. I am ex Army myself, presently I have been activated and serving with the Air National Guard.

Yo braddah...Wazz up ...I see yu drive an R/T...well guess what???? welcome...to the best board around...here yu will learn sometin and yu will obtain goals......keep on surfin fellow R/Ter....

Thanks for the warm welcome from everyone. I gues you really can't believe ALL the rumors you hear about Lightning owners. j/k

scampismith: Got activated eh? How long were you out of active duty? I got out in 97 and was in 5 years as a Cavalry Scout in the 1st Cavalry Division and the 2nd Infantry Division.
Flew out of our local airport here in the Houston area and saw the active guard guys there...complete with the black beret. I bet the rangers were happy as hell when they got their beret's color changed.

Surfa: Nice times on your truck. I've got some minor bolt-on goodies and managed a 14.72@94.04 at Houston Raceway Park 2 Fridays ago right after the M1 install. Spun my butt off and managed to get a best of (whopping!) 2.2 60'...I know there's a 2.0 in me if I was able to hook. My buddy who ran with me, with the same bolt-on's plus headers and open cut-out, ran a 14.01@97.5
We've definitely got potential...I'd like to get to 14.0 N/A and then shoot a 100 or 125 shot and see if I can totally bypass the 13's all together. That'd be some schnit!
Going to a dyno-day at a shop in Houston Sunday, and will post my results if you guys are interested.

Later!

Chris

Chris I got out of the regular Army in 1971. I have a total of 38 years active duty and guard. I was planning on retiring this past October then 911 came along, that's life I guess. Keep up the good work with your ride who knows it might turn into an Light some day. Have fun and be safe.

ConnorR/T,

Welcome to this board, it is always great to talk and share info on great trucks. The R/T is a very nice truck, and I hope you get it flying soon.

I've not met any R/T owners in person that I didn't like. I've had some exchanges with several R/T owners over the internet that I didn't much care for. Sounds like you would fit in the first catagory. :p Welcome.

Dyno

Hey guys.

Well, I dyno'd the R/T a couple of weeks ago, and thought I'd share my results.
246 rwhp & 306 ft lbs

Going to be adding headers soon and hopefully with the mods I currently have I'll be upwards of 260 hp and 330 tq. I've got plenty of air coming in (for now), but having big trouble getting it out.
Went to HRP last weekend and ran a 14.62@94.26
I know this is hella slow to you guys, butI'm getting there. Started around 15.5x stock, and have a total of about $1000.00 in upgrades so far.
Did race an LT1 Z28 last night. Got him from the launch and had him until around 60 or 65, but then he pulled and I ended up seeing his taillights too. We raced 3 times and I had him on the start and midway (light to light about a mile or 2 in between) each time. He was surprised that a 'truck' kept up as well as I did.
Headers, headers, headers.

Tax refund will be here soon...

Talk to you guys later.

Chris
