June 9th event

This just came across the KC Auto-x list a couple of days ago;

Subject: KCR June 9th Event at The Woodlands

Hello everyone,

The June 9th event for the Kansas City Region (SCCA) will be in the West lot at The Woodlands. This event will be in conjunction with The Best of Wheels and Chrome Car, Truck, and Bike Show to Benefit Children presented by the BPU United Way Year Round Council.

The Car show will feature a live band, food, and many other vendors. There will be Featured Cars and Bikes, National Guard Tanks and Helicopters, a Fire Truck Display and Demonstration. Motor Blow, Car Bash, Kid Games and much, much more.

There will be a used car corral were you can Buy and Sell Your Used Car!! They will be giving out awards for the top 60 Cars, Top 30 Trucks, and Top 30 Bikes. They also have special awards for Best of Show, People's Choice, Chairman's Choice, Ladies Choice, Best Hod Rod of Show, Best Chrysler Product, Best Ford Product, Best GM Product, Best Truck of Show, Best Import of Show, Best Custom Bike, Best Domestic Bike, Best Import Bike. They also have a 1st and 2nd place in Special Interest and Under Construction.

Registration fee for showing at the event is $15 per car from 9 am to noon. Awards presented after 4 pm. If you are wanting to race in the Solo II and show your car, special accommodations will be provided for those that take part in this special event. An event T-shirt will be given to the first 200 Participants.

This might be a good event to feature for the MKLO. There is a show-n-shine with several catagories (see above). LOTS OF NEAT STUFF TO DO! Even having an auto-x at the same event. THose who aren't sure if they'd like to do it or not can just show up and check it out (even get a ride-along if they want).
