Hi, all i would appreciate any input concerning the Mods that will eat my limited L fund up.like how much HP/torque gain am i looking at etc.. improvement"s or suggestions WELCOME!
i say in laymen terms=working bluecollar type lingo, have $800.00 to accomplish my task at hand , hopefully, i will at least keep up with SS camaro's? Input PLEASE,thanx....

Subject: 2001 lightning will soon modify!

Hi ,the updates I am thinking of doing to my [2001] lightning are as follows, and my truck will be for street use only no track, just an occasional WOT against a ss camaro, or something like that ,on the way to and from work= 11mi each way.with that said here is what I would like to accomplish.

1.psp transmission valve body kit $200.00 ?= heard line mod valve hard on tranny?
2. psp ?single stage chip programmed for all listed mods and left over stock settings =$255.00 or JDM =$275.00 ? chip needs to be for listed mods.

3. psp 2# pulley kit with tools $240.00?= (will beable to change rear belt.) or JDM ?
4. JDM or PSP?oil breather cap ,price =$30.00
5. JDM or PSP boost bypass kit $ 25.00
6.will use my own stock air box modified with extra 2.5" inch tube runnig in bottom of box, conneted to a 2.5" hose routed to a scoop under the spoiler with a K&N panel filter, and the existing stock fender intake hole to box also.
7.finally who makes your chips? how much are reburns?and will I myself with limited tools ,be- able to install all the listed hardware?do you have instructions for chip install?
8.does the chip disable the pcv valve?
9. would appreciate feedback ,so I can make my final purchase decision.=mike =LightnigRod,
, .hope chip programming can compensate? = the whole package program with the air intake mod I described
and the other above items?
also wouild appreciate info on if these mods will last for awhile , and possible gains in hp and torque would be?
longevity is a real issue ,as all other L owners i would love to pay off the loan before she wears out/:b

#4) Don't spend 30bux on a breather. Make your own. I went to Pep Boys, bought a breather filter(With a chrome top for the extra HP!!!;) ) for $10, Hooked it up to a piece of vacuum hose and fit it on the valve cover. Then I plugged the hole on the underside of the intake hose. Simple! :tu:

looks like this ?

here's what it looks like
1.i put a K & N panel filter in stock box and added a 2.5 hole in bottom of box with hose to the front of truck under the spoiler =mini ram and extra air intake.
2. looks like a 3# pulley
3.one of these choices a psp or jdm chip ?
4.psp valve body shift kit tranny.
5. i am hopping to get this for around 800.00 or less?
6. will i need to change plugs with this set up? also do you thik i can do the insall myself i think speedin bob listed a few special tools needed ,hope i can get them or rent them at autozone?
7.will be putting a oil breather also i don't guess a boost by pass will be needd?
8.are all gasketts and parts included with instructions does any one know?
9.still undecided on the cageged or uncaged pulley?
10.as noted earlier mostly a daily driver very occasional WOT ,but i wan't it there when needed =extra HP/torque.
11. what do you think i respect all input ,and feedback b4 i do the $$$due mods.:tu:

The crankcase breather is to relieve the normal but relatively high crankcase pressure. It has nothing to do the with the boost bypass kit. The boost bypass takes away the computers ability to dump boost when it sees something it doesn't like. JDM's website explains each of these items as to their use/needs.

Thanks FlashSVT

Thanks for posting this. Can't believe people charge 35.00 for something like this.
