What is the best way to do this and will there be much color difference in the paint when it is off? Thanks!

Nathan

Heat it up with a hair dryer and it will soften the adhesive behind it. You can use a heat gun too but be careful with one of those because those were made to take paint off, you'll be fine with a hair dryer though. When the adhesive loosens up some, you can pull it right off easily. Not sure if you were planning on putting something in its place, but there will be two holes in the fender there because the badge has two posts behind it that go into those holes to line it up. The paint should match okay too depending on the condition of your paint.

Damn holes!

Well, thanks for the help.

[scratches head] maybe i can use them as speed holes [/scratches head] :p

When new my truck had the "F-150" badge and not the "SVTF-150" badge. I tried to heat it up but it wouldnt pull off. I used a piece of fishing line to get behind it and saw the glue backing off. Just be careful not to scratch the paint with the line.

I was thinking of putting the Gen 2's tailgate "SVT F150" emblems in place of my fender emblems. Would the posts match up? could I just use the adhesive and It would work anyway?

I doubt the posts would match out sice the stock badges have offset posts. I'm sure it you cut one post off the new badges it would work just fine.
