well i will tell you very honestly here now that i got to ride in a midly moded up one. i really like the style with the lowered stance and huge 18" wheels. i did not know it handled so well. VERY impressed with that aspect. i thought they were just north-south trucks. also, i could feel the road! very tight suspension. nearly as tight as mine NOW! LOL. the sound of that eaton blower at boost is just plain awesome! never would have thought it would be that loud from inside the cab. the interior felt really nice, but i knew that would be the case. some of the best leather around. not like my plastic leather in my TA
one thing that felft weird was accelerating (and cooking those tires at 25 mph roll!) was being so high. it honestly did not fell as fast as compared to my car (a lowered TA). but when you look at the spedo and we blasted to 100 so damn quick it was unreal. i guess becuase the 2Ls still do stand up that high. the TQ was tremendous to get that heavy *** truck with us (we are no lightweights!) to burn up the tires! we can cruise in that thing anytime!
They have a kick butt new (02) in Lawrence that it True Blue!! You ought to go snag it! LOL I might be able to hook you up with someone who can get you a X plan on one!

I know what you mean. I drove my Gen 1 the other day and I'm used to the Jeep I-6 with torque at 750 rpm and no weight to move. The truck felt like it wasn't getting out of it's own way until I looked down and saw the speedo swinging past 95 on the on-ramp. Awwwww yeeeeeeahhhhh!!!
Yeah, I'm quite impressed with the torque of those trucks. Hopefully when I get the funds in order, a '99 or '00 Lightning will be on my shopping list. After seeing Shane slip the back of that truck loose on a 25-30mph rolling start, it made me realize how boring FWD cars are.
Definitely a truck worth getting! And one I plan on having in my driveway very soon!
Gator~
The X plan is below MSRP and Ford gives that deal to friends of Ford employes and through company business deals! You can score that pretty easily, or you might be able to get a hold of an A plan number, which is for people who work for Ford directly, I think you can get a new L on the A plan for like 27,800 or somehting like that! I don't know exactly though!
