IMO

You'll have to let the sun take its toll. The rest of the truck paint has faded some and what was under the sticker has been protected from UV rays. How's your paint on the exposed areas? You may try some rubbing compound on the paint that was not covered and see if this removes some oxidation. What color is your truck? Mine's black. It was badly oxidized when I got it. A good rubbing with Maguire's wax made it look great. But I also dont have the clear coat. If you have the clear coat, 94-95's, you may be outta luck because rubbing compound and wax wont affect the base paint pigment but the sun will.

i have a red 94 and the paint around it seems like a deeper color then whats underneath. kinda strange but.... my paint has absolutley no oxidation on it. looks almost show room... i was actaully surprised to see it like that underneath. oh and its only on the passengers side. as for the f-150 badges there was no fade at all:eek: let me know if anyone else has some ideas

thanks

Well that's backwards!

 By the way, did you do anything special to the sticker before peeling it off? I have one that is faded out and would like to replace it. I'm just worried that it'll peel the paint!

Yea, a heat gun or hair dryer will work very well, wear gloves or some type of tweezer utensile though, some that dont let heat through well. Because the heat gun heats the stickers to a nice temperature and will burn you quite nicely. It hurts

If there are any outlines on the paint from the stickers, like around the edges that you can see from reflection, a good buffing and waxing will take that off.

Sowwy 'bout dat!

I think you're S.O.L. That clear coat is protecting the paint so any rubbing compound or waxes will only apply to the clear coat. May try some of that color matching wax. That stuff will fill in any of the scratches on the clear coat and MIGHT help blend in the differences.

You mean the color matching wax? I think Turtle Wax has there brand. They'll have wax for red, black, grey, green and prolly a few other base colors. For example, the red bottle will work with just about any shade of red paint. Same for the black and green and so on. It's not an exact color match....I may have misled you in my previous post. I've used the the black before on my rodeo(clear coat) and Lightning...both black. IMO, I think it does a good job in hiding alot of the SURFACE scratches that you get when you dry your car after washing without waxing, not grooved-down-to-bare-metal scratches.
