Passenger side last bolt. It has that bracket on it, and i can't get the bracket off. Is there some special technique i'm missing? The rest of the install has been pretty trivial but i can't get this last sucker off.
use a small open end wrench, get it over the nut turn it a little then turn the wrench the other way ......... and so on, thats how i did it , pain in the ***, but what isnt ,later rich
to get it in, you should get that bolt started first, thats what i did, and i also used arp stainless bolts, the head on these are smaller, dont rust and its easier to get a wrench on them, later rich
i actually cut an open-end wrench in half, 11mm i believe it was. then i ground down the outer edges of the fork, making it a slimmer profile. that made it a heck of a lot easier, although Sears wont give me a new one...something about excessive use/abuse and unauthorized modifications
that, or make sure your spark plug wires are on in the correct firing order.
sad but true story: we finished up putting the turbo on my buddy's mustang and started it up only to hear it backfiring and chugging like crazy. after a few days of messing with it and trying to figure out what was wrong he noticed that the plug wires were on in the exact opposite firing order they should be in.
Ok guys you win, the 3&4 plug wires were swapped. It still will backfire SLIGHTLY on decel after a high speed blast, but hopefully tightening everything will fix that.
