Harness bar?

Any word on the harness bar? I'm looking to put some Sparco Milano's in the truck and would love to hook up a harness to them...not that I approach anywhere near the level of racing of some of you guys, but I'd like to do it none the less.

Anything yet Stan?

options?

No not yet been very busy. But have a few questions on what you would like to see.Hoops behind the seat like in some of the cars[mini roll bars],thru holes for bolt in harness or just the bar for the wrap around? They will ALL be powder coated but what color.Black gray or red.Let me know so I can figure this out before the season starts.Stan

Hi Stan. Thanks for the reply. I"m just looking for something to attach a 5-point to. I can use any/all existing attachment points also, but would like the bar to go all the way across before it comes down. (like a large, wide n, at least 15-18" tall ). My storage bin is gone and I have a 10" sub behind each seat in a custom box, so the bar needs to bolt within 3-4" of the b-post. I'd prefer dark gray powdercoat, as I personally like the subtle look, but I can go with what the majority wants.

Mini hoop (cost for add?)
Bolt in harness
Red
How about a tab for a video camera?

The bar will attach at the FACTORY shoulder belt points. But will not be adjustable as to height will have to set the sliders to the lowest setting to attach. As for the video mount I can make one but the back of the camera would be sticking out the slider window I think and you will lose a little seat adjustment with this bar too.The hoops will be in 1 inch tubing just for looks and not for ANY protection again roll over. Will work on it this weekend should have a pic to email everyone how replies to this.I will not post a pic because of "others" copying the idea and marketing it since they have a name and I don't.Stan

PS you can not make a mini roll bar or hoop to attack to the bottom of the truck[by the package tray] because you have no form of fore and aft bracing.

Stan I think that sounds good. Won't it need to come down a bit lower from the shoulder harness mount in order to wrap the belt over the shoulders?

I fully understand about the lack of rollover protection and such. All I'm really interested in is obtaining a place to mount (or help mount) a 5-pt harness. Extra radio belts around the chest and torso don't quite do the trick when you're 220 lbs <g>.

I don't blame you a bit on the private pictures. You've got my email Stan, I'm looking forward to seeing that whenever you get the chance.

Thanks.

Have a truck lined up to borrow from the dealer over the weekend so will have all the measurements and can fit it so you can see.i think the rule is it can be higher than your shoulders but only 2 inches BELOW your shoulders. But will see and ck rules before then. The price will be around 175 for the no hoop and 225 to 250 for the hoops.Stan

Spoken like a true gentleman. I was hoping you'd know the rulebook on placement. :D

What I was curious about was the stock seats don't have any belt slots in them and they are narrow at the top. Wouldn't this give the belts the tendency to want to slide down off of your shoulders? Also with the belts above the shoulders with this configuration, won't it still allow a bit of lateral movement at the top of the torso?

Do you have a set of belts in mind that would work? Or even an old set you could throw in there as a mockup to get a better idea on how the belts would fit? I know, pain in the a$$, but better to ask the questions now instead of later...:D

really need to have the seats slotted for the belts or buy anouther seat to install when you plan on using the belts. And yes I have an extra set do to the rules that I have [have to replace belts every 2 yrs.As for above the shoulders you will have a little slop but if the belts at tightned down then not to much also the belts stretch in the event of a mishap I figure about 10%.At the starting line I have a guy pull on the belts almost as hard as he can.The way you know that it is tight enough is if it hurts then it is just rite.Stan

E Mails

Will need everyones email that is interested AND afterI send the pic see who is wanting one. They will be made on an "as needed" bases.Tired of all the tire kickers.
PS my prices are going to go up on the rotors Feb 1 so if you want any better get them now or atleast order them. Thanks Stan
Price them from Ford and this is WITHOUT the work.Sorry if I vented but am tired of all the copy cats and the tire kickers.

Ok, we need to get a list of those who're ready to buy. We need 5 people who will buy so he can purchase materials to make these (and create a fixture so they will all be the same).

If you want to buy, send Stan (ruslow) email directly and give him your information.

If you need information on finish color, etc.., contact Stan (ruslow) directly, or read this entire thread.

...and YES I DO have a vested interest in this. I want to buy one myself, but we need 5 people to purchase before Stan will make them...that means 4 more people besides myself. <g>
