Got my Lightning intake stuff settled finally

Thanks again to JJ for all his work in putting it on, and fixing my problems, and thanks to StruckBy for making it just so easy to be installed Got it back last night, and took some pics this morning with work's camera. It's a Downs Ford box upper, and on a really stock engine. There's definately a few dead spots here and there, that I was warned of , but I'm learning them as I drive. Plus, this is going to help out a lot in the grand scheme of things planned.

The old GT-40 will be up for sale soon, maybe I'll get something for it, despite it having three major problems 181K miles of gunk, a broken EGR tube, and now a sheared off stud in one of the EGR spacer connect holes.

Sweet, man. So tell us. How's it run with that setup since yours is basically stock? Did you lose much power? Gain anything?

The truck has always been generaly tame until about 3k RPM, now it's just more tame It's more often that I want to get deeper into the gas in regular traffic. But, once on the highway, it's a big difference. From 3500rpm up, it just keeps pulling and pulling. I went into work very early this morning, and jumped on I-97, which was very dead. Had a definate seat-of-the-pants slam against the seat and it jumped from 50 to 85 much quicker than normally. That one time is the extent of real testing, and probably the most I'll do, until I can get to a track again for real results.

Well, my wife budgets me for one drag day a quarter, and holding me to it quite strictly. I went in Sept, then Dec, so probably March I'll find out what this baby will do. Unless, before then, I find more things to put on

What might you be expecting to get for that upper, Brian? The EGT won't matter much if I use it on the '70.

I guess that guy cuspids whats that thing pretty bad. I'll just have to find one somewhere else I guess. 6 days and it's up to 152. I'm not goin to be able to go over 200.
