Godzilla Swap Breakdown

I know this kind of swap isn't for everyone, but hey at least it's not an LS :)

Why do it? That's up to you, but if you're looking to add 200-350HP to your truck and keep OEM drivability this is one path you can take.

Pros:
  • Brand new Ford engine
  • Rated conservatively at 430HP/485TQ <-- stock!
  • Long block (depending on mods) is initially cheaper than similar Windsor based crate engines
  • Utilizes modern engine controls
  • No major frame alterations or cutting
  • Responds well to simple mods (~600HP/600TQ) with a cam and intake

Cons:
  • It's not a Windsor
  • It's not what a Gen 1 Lightning came with
  • Much higher cost vs simply rebuilding your *stock* engine
  • Must utilize aftermarket EFI and trans controller
  • If keeping stock transmission you need an adapter
  • You'll need to make fuel system changes
Cost breakdowns using Swapzilla who I HIGHLY recommend!!!

At 10.5:1 on gas I think it might do a little better than a W, but it's going to depend on the cam and tune....and the weight of the right foot as mentioned above.

I’ve really got to look into aftermarket fuel management, my stock (everything) only gets 12mpg, city or highway.
