Give me your thoughts

I posted this in the War Zone but got NO feed back, so decided to give it a try here. How do you guys think I did??

Mustange GT:

The GT was a 00 or 01 I left hard for the light casue his land was ending into my lane and took him there. I can say he was trying but it looked like he was. Now rolling we hit it from about 40 and he was behind my door untill we hit about 80 then he just took the lead. Would you say this is normal or does my truck sound soft? The only mods I have (so far ) are in my sig..

Sounds pretty good to me! I wouldn't say too soft. What shift kit do you have? Other than that is it a stock tranny? I couldn't follow what you were saying in the beginning. Did you race from a stop? Did you win or just hang with them?

well we were at the light. but his lane ended up ahead so I floored it and switched lanes so he could be next to me. from there were were travelling like 40mph and we both floored it. I had him up to 80 then he just took the lead. On regards to who one the race I don't know. we just raced on the street I mean we could of went to 100 or more but I dont think I would of hanged on that long from 80 he took the lead. I don't think I could've caught up to him.

I went to the track this past friday and raced a modded fox body mustang and off the line we both had a pretty good launch. He jumped out in front about 1 car length and stayed there until I hit 3rd gear, then he pulled on me some more and won by about 3-4 car lenghts. I only reached about 65mph in the 1/8 to end up with 10.25sec...not too bad for a rusty driver. I'd say you did pretty good.

By the way, my truck is stock

I don't know but, every car I have raced and lost to has taken me on 3rd gear. I took a 94 (not usre on the year) Z28 from the line but at 3rd he took off.

I'd say that's a real good run. The new GT with a good driver will do low 14s to hi 13s easily (auto vs 5 speed). Also remember your a good 1000 pounds heavier, too. You'll need a few more mods to beat those cars but you're already off to a real good start. Nice run. I know what you mean about getting them off the line. I raced a 89 IROC with a 350 and some mods in it. I got a HUGE holeshot on him in which he was seeing my taillights but about 1/2 to 3/4 down the 1/4mile he pulled beside me and then had 2 cars on me at the line. I was impressed how tight of a race it was.

well thanks guys, I was just a little weired that my truck was loosing power or something. I also thought I did good against a 260HP car and like MO351 said 1000lbs lighter.
