Gen1 Tires

I have a question..... I have been thinking about this for a long time and wanted to know if it would work???? Will the nitto drag radials which are 275/40/17 fit our rim and if so could you lower the truck with a 3/4 drop and use ranchos and possible make the truck hook up....???? Just a thought......

Dropping to a 50 series throws the speedo off ...if you do the math. I agree...looks 10x better though. I have 55h series now...but time for new ones. By the way..you can see it at f150online...view gallery...under Razor

I just put some BFG 255/50/17's on my truck and I cannot tell that much of a difference in MPH. Before I put them on it was dead on correct MPH, now it seems to be reading only 1 tenth on a MPH faster. I thought it was going to make much more difference then it did. The overall tire height was 2 inches shorter than the 275/60/17's I had before.

I could be wrong on this, but I thought the speedo sensor was in the rear end of our trucks and that it wasnt effected by putting on a different size tire than stock. Maybe someone else can help me out with this..

The speed sensor is in the rear. However, tire size still affects the speedo reading. The tire size effects the number of rotations the axles make is a given distance. Therefore, a smaller tire will take more rotations (the axles rotate the same speed as the tires) to go the same distance as a larger tire.

When I had 45 series tires on my L, the speedo was way off.
