gen 2 wheels

I won 1st at Truckfest!!!
I'm sure it has allready been asked before but is there ANY way to fit a set of factory 2001 L wheels on a gen 1? I have seen older F150s and a 95 L with 1997 up 17" 4x4/expedition wheels on them. Maybe they were redrilled ,I don't know. I can get a smokin' deal on a set of 2001 wheels & tires and I'd love to have them on my L. I know AFS makes the 99' style wheels but thats not what I want. Could the axle/rotors be redrilled? Any other thoughts?

I think its AFS wheels that has the 2nd gen repro's with our bolt pattern. If not you could try to have the rims redrilled.

94L#150: I've tried to find out about this before, I've never gotten a definitive answer though. Someone mentioned that the rims are the wrong offset as well as being the wrong bolt pattern.

I've seen some great deals on take-off rims from gen2's that i wish i could have jumped on. I wonder if it's possible to swap out some of the other hardware with a gen2 and get upgraded brakes and the new bolt pattern also. Anyone thought about this? Is the front suspension too different to do it?

I definitly remember a post where someone said that they had the G2 rims redrilled and were using them on their G1, as for changing out the old bolt pattern I think that it would be more hassle than what its worth, othrewise you would have seen allot of the other guys doing it allready.

A 99-01 wheel is definitely the wrong bolt pattern (5 x 135 mm and you need 5 x 5.5") As mentioned, AFS makes a Gen2 wheel in a Gen1 bolt pattern, but it is the 99/00 styl, not the 01 style.
