I just got a 1994 SVT Lightning and was wondering about some
suspension upgrades. I would like to bring the truck down a bit. I
don't want a ground scraping truck just maybe 2" or so. If some of
you guys have your g1 l's lowered you could post a couple pics. And
let me know which kits you used. Thanks.

The easiest drop to do is 1" front, 2" rear.

You get the eibach springs for the front, and drop shackles for the rear. You can still keep the stock tire size if you want, and it's perfectly driveable. You should go get the truck aligned afterwards of course.

You should of told me you posted here???

Here it is Matt.

It's a bit on the low side for me, but this is how I bought it and it's grown on me. To obtain that air damn eating stance the origonal owner employed DJM 3" dropped I-beams on the front, and DJM 4" drop shackles and hangers on the rear. Don't know what shocks are used(they look stock to me) stock springs all around. It's got 275/40/R17 tires, next set I'm going with 45s on the front and 50s on the back(hopefully someone will make a 275/50/R17 drag radial).

Heres another, note how the top half is clean. Damn winter road salt and slush crap.

Lightning WX, What happend to you making replicas of that sticker? My tires are 275/50/17 Nitto's NT-450 all around and Bilstien shocks.

Alex

When did you paint have of your truck have Black? (I know I'm not getting you confused right?)

Looks great. Do you have factory size tires? How is the ride with that kit? And what does that kit include? Thanks for your help.

Just wanted to say those are two nice looking trucks with the lowering kits. I've considered changing mine. I think the 275/60/17's are too big for the front. I'd like to put a slightly smaller tire on the front (275/50/17)but then it would prolly lean too much on the front. Plus, I'd rather not mess with my MPH reading.

The belltech kit comes with 3' drop I-beams for the front and rear shackles and hangers. I however didn't put the shackles on to keep the truck leveled in the rear.

Never mind LightningWX I had you confused with lightningsvt. Dams user names :b
