Took my '95 Lightning into the shop last week. They said it had a leaky water pump and timing belt cover. I had them replace the waterpump and timing belt cover gasket, chain & gear (123kmiles). Ever since then, as I'm driving and maintaining a speed the engines rattles (sounds like lifters). Once I give it the gas the noise goes away. At idle it sounds fine, but warmed up and lightly reving engine sounds like its coming apart.
This is a highway driver and never made this noise before.
Is this telling me its time for a rebuild?
Oil pressure guage is normal.
Performance seems unchanged.
No tailpipe smoke.
Truck is stock.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!! :(

I would be suspect to a damaged harmonic balancer. They might of damaged it while removing or installing it to the crank snout.
Good luck,
Steve

Thanks guys. I'll take it back to the shop on Monday and have them check it out. It just didn't make since to me.. Best truck I've ever owned. This board is the greatest!! Keep up the good work guys. :w
