For those who paid and never recieved thier SVTOA membership

Man on the edge
Email your name, addy, vin#, and whatever else may be important to TomL@SVTOA.com I called him last week and told him several of us got took at On Track and recieved no packet or #'s. He was also suprised that they made me pay since I get a free year for a new purchase:mad:

I have never received my SVT Certificate, SVT Enthusiast Magazine, SVTOA membership, or anything else I was supposed to get. And I'm too ornery to get all that stuff together and send it to them just so I could not get it again. I would take cash. :p

I guess now is not the time to post the email I exchanged with the Pres of SVTOA.....

I dont think he likes me any more....

Doug

Ok Here is a sample
is a classic used car salesman, he fits the negative parts of that stereotype in every regard. You cannot believe anything he says no matter how much conviction he says it with. The members of the Local club have had a pretty good regard for Bankston Ford especially the professionalism of their service dept until recently when a significant change has taken place and it seems to coincide with the SVT Cobra club activities... That is unfortunate.

Perhaps your note about membership growth may be artificially inflated by the fact that every 2001-2002 buyer is automatically a member ??

I have paid both the local fees and the national fees and regarding the National I have not received an issue of the SVT Enthusiast Magazine in a year or so.... I will be the first one to promote SVTOA if I can feel comfortable with the value it provides however, as I stated in earlier email, since the magazine never arrives, the events have been cancelled ( or postponed ) and the web site has almost no content I have having a hard time putting together a working value proposition for the ongoing membership fees. ( Which ironically are a drop in the bucket compared to the money I spend on gas, tires and mods )

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

......Perhaps I am looking at this from the wrong perspective but I am comparing SVTOA to the many free sites/clubs around. Not only do many of those sites offer more content for free but they are NOT backed by an Automaker. I am probably setting my expectations too high since I paid to join and since Ford is backing the organization. I'll work on resetting my expectations
Thanks for your time

Doug

PS I guess its a good thing I don't run Banner ads on my site cause now would likely not be a good time to try to blow smoke up your skirt to get you to advertise on the site huh....

I asked and they could not autenticate the origin of your truck something about not knowing who the daddy was or something :D I thought if you called 1800FORDSVT they would mail it out. At least you know you tangers are onry and difficult to work with:p

Same here, paid at On Track, never received anything. I also belong to another car club, pay $40/year and receive 2 monthly full color magazines(one local and one national).
These have tech articles, historic, meeting updates, etc, etc.

No SVTOA for me.

Regards,

I got the same lip service from SVTOA a few weeks ago...Only to be ignored after providing all the info and my phone calls have gone unanswered as well.

Ok For a fee... ( A couple beers ) Ill give you he pres's email... He didnt belive me when I told him I was trying to relay the story from the street ... When you guys all ***** he may call the FBI back and tell them that I am not crazy...

Certificate

Jeez guys,
I got my certificate in October.
After I moved, I sent a nice fax to SVT with my Vin#, name, address and phone number to tell them I had moved.
4 Days later, I got another copy of the L certificate.

The fax number I used was:

On behalf of the SVT Club of North Texas (formally SVTOA of North Texas) we apologize for those of you who never received your memberships. We sent them (SVTOA) a list of names and a check covering all the memberships after the On-Track event and they dropped the ball. Not only did they screw you guys, but their own local chapter...which is why we are no longer associated with them.

Doug... is the letter you quoted in your post something that you sent to Reno (SVTOA)? Just curious since I see reference to our club.

Terry... if we charged you for an SVTOA membership to attend the event, I will have them reimburse you for the membership fee. I will check into it and shoot you an email.

Ggus I tried to respond in email but I dont have your address .. Send me an email Ill give you the specifics

Doug

Doug, he can be reached at guy@svttexas.com Can you copy me as well at gscott@saleencobra.com.

Just to help you understand, I, as the former Chapter Director of the SVTOA Club of North Texas have not received the SVT Enthusiast.

Doug, you are preaching to the choir up there. I too have relayed information to the corporate office (from the masses) but I guess they feel I too, am making up what other's think.

Unfortunately, we have not seen any activity from SVTOA of North Texas since we rebirthed the original club as the SVT Club of North Texas. Several calls have been made to Bill Simington, (who is currently running the club), but a date has not been set on the first meeting of the year. I wish them the best!

BTW, would really like to get the two clubs together (SVT CLUB not SVTOA Club) to do an event whether it be racing, indoor racing, car show or whatever.....

Have a great one all....

You summarized it pretty good. I sent a couple brutally honest emails to Reno. He didnt seem too receptive.

He mentioned they were reorganizing the club and looking for people to take roles but when he said that Simington was leading it I realised I was gonna be real busy elsewhere.
