is the ss 45 a kimber? if so i think you have it covered. now for some affordable shooting ya need a nice 9mm. maybe a cz or a ruger.-chris

Nah, not a Kimber. (Don't I wish?!):D It's a Colt, self customized for IPSC. Centaur systems Quadracomp compensator and barrel system with adjustable link pin and several different Wolff springs, Wilson trigger and ejector, Pachmyer sights and magazines. At the time I bought the stock gun, Kimber was a rather obscure company and Detonics was the 1911 to have. But of course Detonics was then as Kimber is now, EXPENSIVE! Now, though, I'll put this one up against any Kimber for accuracy.

Hey Gitchi, I thought you had let your water cool on IPSC. Back in the game?? As for myself, I am ramping up to get classed in Limited, 10, and Production so I can hit some state and area matches this year. I have been a casual participant of IPSC for the last couple of years, but now it's time to get serious! Hopefully I can win something off of the prize table.... Even if I come in last place, it's still a fun game. IDPA is pretty cool also, but IPSC is where the real fun is. Been shooting a light triggered GLOCK 35 for the last year or so, its been good to me.

Some Day

Mac,
Unfortunately no, not back in the game. I simply love that gun and still do all my own reloading for it. One day when I'm not so busy, (prolly retired:D) I'd like to get back in practice and get serious also. I've shot it in the last few months, and can still hold my own with it. Like to find a pin shoot around here, but since the range that had them changed hands, I can't find one. In about six more years, I'll have plenty of time on my hands for the finest things in life.:D Best of luck in your competitions. Keep me posted.

Gitchi, I'll keep ya posted! Pin shoots sound fun, can't find any around here though. Last two club matches I shot in, I've done really well, so my confidence has really skyrocketed, now I'm ready to hit some big state matches as D-class and take some stuff off of the prize table! :D The older guys tell me I won't be D-class very long though...

I'm savin' for a ss gold cup, it's the best shooting 45 i've ever used, although the glock 21 (i think) ain't bad either.

Gitchi Manitou,

Thanks for the tip, I thought about it after I posted the pictures, one thing I should have taken off before the picture was taken.
By the way, your H&K is a sweet hand gun:D
