flippin pushrods???????

I've got 50K on my engine....

Should I flip the pushrods (end-for-end) b4 I reinstall them?

I got the lower intake off and the gaskets at the forward and rear of the block aren't cork; I was told they would be. Anyway, since they're rubber should I adhere the new ones to the block so they don't migrate?

Is there any way to test hydr. lifters?

Does anyone know the stud size I need to slap the lower back on?

Sorry for all the questions, if it wasn't obvious, I'm a novice:confused: .

Thanks to everyone for helping me thru this project.

I've never, ever heard of the need to flip the pushrods... that's a new one on me.

Stock gaskets are rubber. I use corks now and stick them to the block using the peel-n-stick side, then put a good bead of RTV on top, let that tack up pretty nicely, set the intake in place but don't torque it for a few minutes to let the RTV set some more, then tighten it down. That's never leaked on me.

An old aircraft mechanic told me to flip em.

He said he used that technique on opposed engines during overhaul if the p/rods were serviceable.
