Hey guys, i know you're tired of the heads & cam questions but i have some money & i want to go ahead & do this if i get some great advice. I'm running a 13.1-4 with 8-10lbs of boost from my powerdyne. I still want it to be a street driveable pickup; with some power behind it. I'm not very educated when it comes to heads & cam & i really trust u guys so please help me with your expertise. I did a search & i'm still not sure. Thanks

1.Heads: What brands & exactly what specs?

2.Cam: Cam Motion: What specs?::tu:

#2: Cam Motion will make you a cam, you don't have to tell them anything other than some specifics about your truck(stall,weight,mod's to the engine, axle ratio etc)

#1: Pick a head, it'll be good.. AFR,Edelbrock,TFS, etc Pretty much anything is good. Alot of people really like TFS.. You really can't go wrong with heads. Just find something with good flow with around 185cc intake ports(for velocity).. Really can't go wrong.

...i cant say enough good things about Trick Flow :) although, the AFR's have pretty much become the 'in thing' as far as heads go. Curt makes a good point, most any head will do you some good.

have fun :D

I ran the Ford Motorsport E303 cam for years and was still able to get good MPG. This is the cam I ran going 11.50's with TFS heads.

But an E cam doesn't like speed density, so unless you're mass air you can't use it. Cam Motion can grind you cam that will rival a E cam, but still work with SD..

STILL MORE HEAD

HE KNEW that would grab ya hey what do our gt40 heads flow.
? can you port and polish them and maybe add bigger valves or is just as well price wise to go with the trick flow opr afr heads. hmmmmmm just wondering thanKs for any input. DAVID:w

Dave I would pull your GT40s off and sell them for say 350 instead of spending maybe300 to port and polish and even more money to add bigger valves,springs etc...
I think AFR185s can be had for a grand or so.:tu:

ditto what Marcus said. although 300 seems to be the going price around here. then, if youre a cheap b@$tard like me, youll wait around until you can snag a nice set of used aluminums. i sold my GT40's for 300 and bought my Trick Flows for 700. so, for a $400 investment, ive got a set of ported heads that flow right at 300 and 200.

....i doubt that can be matched on any GT40's, but im no expert :D
