Engine Light will not go off???

I have the following mods and I can not get the Engine Light to stay off...
85mm C&L MAF
JDM Bypass Kit
JDM Line Mod
and a Cone type K&N

If I disconnect the battery the light will stay off for awhile and then come's back on... What do you guys think I need... I really do not want to do a chip but I might some time soon...

try putting the stock mass air meter back on and see if that solves the problem.

If the MAF change doesn't do it, there is a chance your o2 sensor is going bad.

The reason I say that is, in California, if you use Arco ro USA gasoline, there is a high content of MTBE and alcohol and will draw enough moisture across the o3 sensor to cause this problem. Happened to me in my 5.4 Expy. Ford dealer highly recomends staying far away from these gasoline dealers in CA.

The funny thing is that I use Arco gas all the time... It is right by my house and cheap... I bet you that is the problem... Thanks for the advice guys...

I Think you ar getting a double whammy with the gas and that MAF.
Lightning Bob had some problems with that C&L. Will give you a lean code.

I was thinking the same thing about it being the MAF but I ran that MAF on the truck for about a month before this problem started... I honestly think it is the gas because I never used to use Arco but know it is right down the street from my house... I will fill it with normal gas, clear the computer and see what happens...

Just changing gas stations will help, but if you have been using Arco for quite some time, it would be a fair guess to say the o2 sensor is fried, sorry, just my $.02
