Drag Racing - Required Safety Equipment 12s, 11s

Just curious, what safety equipment is required once you pass into the 12s, and 11s? Isn't a cage required once you run 11.99 or quicker? That would be interesting in a street driven Lightning.

In short, a helmet is required for 13.99 and faster, a driveshaft loop is required if running 12.99 or faster(w /slicks), and a cage is "required" if running 11.99 or faster. However, I have seen just "a few" Lightnings running 11's without a cage

If you run a 11.99 or quicker, without a cage, they WILL make you park the truck at our track.

For 11's you don't need a cage, a 5 point roll bar will do.
Once you get into the 10's then you need a cage.

Then 10s, you mean a full cage around the ceiling and sides (along the doors)?

In rivercity raceway (RCR)(IHRA track I thinck)near San Antonio Tx. I've seen car that run in the low10's to high 9's run with no roll cage (roll bar) or other safety equitment at all and they run all night long with no problem from track officials. so maybe some of those 11sec. lightning should come to RCR to race. I want to see them run!

No rollbar is needed from 11.50 and slower.

IHRA: 11.49 and faster
NHRA:11.99 and faster

Thats the difference.
Just depends on what the tracks sanctioning body is.

So CarolinaLightning, if you get your truck past 11.99 you're going to have to install what kind of roll bar (number and location of mounting points) to stay legal at a NHRA sanctioned track?

The rules say you can go 10.00 with a 5pt roll bar as long as the firewall and body are unaltered and you don't trap more than 135
