Door Jamb Switch

I searched this forum, and maybe it is there but I just couldn’t find it…

I recently was given #1488 in Black from 1993 by my amazing Grandad.

It has been a well loved farm truck so there are a few issues that need to be cleaned up to be a “once or twice a week” vehicle… before I slowly go through and get it looking beautiful…

the first small issue is the door jamb switch I would assume since the interior light never comes on when the driver door is open.

My grandad had a switch in the console, but my truck seems to be missing the spot for it… maybe thats why he never installed it…

The one with the hand is from an online video showing where they say it should be for this gen of f150…

If it isn’t there then where is it?

You may have already found the info but here’s a pic of my 93’s location.

I'm not sure when Ford changed their dome light operating strategy, but at some point at or after the body change in 92 they made a change that allowed the dome light to be deactivated by the dome light switch on the dash. Might check that out before you dive too deeply into troubleshooting. I know I had dozens of cars come in the shop over the years with a "burned out" dome light that ended up just having their dome light tuned off. Speaking of burned out, you did check the bulb didn't you?

Interesting, all of mine will allow you to override the light to stay on but not override to stay off.
