Different exhaust system sounds

I am about ready to buy a new exhaust system, probably with the long-tube headers. My plan was to get JDM's long-tube stainless headers with cats and then get the Bassani cat-back.

I talked to Justin at JDM and he said I might want to determine how loud I want it before I drop big bucks on anything.

The biggest problem that I have is that I haven't heard a lot of different after-market Lightning exhaust systems. A friend of mine has a blown Mustang GT with the Ford Motorsport headers, some kind of high-flow cat and the Bassani cat-back setup. That thing howls at high rpms. I love it. I just don't know how a modified L sounds.

Anyway, to get to the point, if you live in Southern California and you have a JDM or Bassani exhaust system, or you have a sound file with your exhaust system blasting away on it, please reply to this message or e-mail me. Make sure to include what type of system you have.

Thanks,
Cliff

SOUNDS

Do a search on this board or maybe f150world and you can find
some good sound files on a couple of Ls.
Theres one guy on here that has full BASSANI with some good mpegs and sound files.
I have the short BASSANI headers and catback and i set off alarms in the morning.
It is a sweet sounding set up,but i see a set of JDM long tubes in my near future.

I HAVE NO CATS AND 2 DUAL CHAMBER FLOWMASTERS........it sounds incredible..........like a classic muslce car with a great pop

Greesed,

Since we both live in Cal, I can tell you the Law here is quite strict about how many Db's your exhaust can put out. Check with the manufacturer directly and ask if the exhaust you want will meet Cal vehicle code. Otherwise, could be a waste of money but fun for a while.
BTW, let me know what you find, I am in the market for some louder exhaust, but it will be a few months since I just got the L and am fresh out of cash flow.
I really like the look and X pipe version of the Bassani cat back, just hope it isn't too loud.
God luck.
