Detination, thing of the past

I have been reading on the boards about knock sensors.
The Lightning knock sensors is turned off from the factory.
It can be turned back on. There is a problem with that, each and ever change you make to the truck , exhaust, pulleys, air filters, suspention and gears the sensor will have to be recalibrated because it works off of frequency.Ford calls it noises .
Even a vibration is a frequency.
The most expensive knock systems in the world won't work with our L's with the constant changes that we make to them, with out being recalibrated for each and ever change.
With the 99 and the 2000's we can get rid of detination by tunning smart.
With the 01's and 02's are new J49 file has JDM technology in it.
The combinations we are running, big pulleys, headers,we do not need alot of timming.
Also with these combinations we will need a larger mass air meter.

Hope this helps

Jim thanks for the info, explaining the knock sensors on our trucks. I read the post you were refering to, but kept out of it.

That J49 program and the bigger mass air will sure make a lot of 2001-2002 guys happy.

If it sounds to good to be true.....

......Then it probally is. I read the same post that you guys did. I thought it was very professional of you to not mention any names here.
Hey Jim, can you please drop me an E-mail, I've been trying to get in touch with anyone in your shop.
Later...

Jim,

The J69 is a more aggressive program with that program I would definitly recommend the 100mm .
It has more top end HP over the J49.
The J49 will keep you safe with big pulleys in the cold weather.

Hope this helps
