When gapping these plugs, bend the ground post with a precision set of pliers and use a feeler gauge or sliding-rule micrometer if you have access to one. Be gentle. They all should be .038~.041 from the factory.
Recieved my 2 plugs today. I bet ya I don't mess these up! Theres a gauge on some of them that or for the purpose of not breaking them. All auto parts have them , thanks to a Lightning Bro.
How much are these plugs? Are they worth the extra $$? Will there be a performance or fuel MPG difference between a .038 and a .042 gap? Any FAQ's on changing the plugs? I've heard horro stories of it taking over 12 hours to do them in some trucks!
They are suggested for mods up to a 4# pulley. Sal has them for about $90 a set. Use a wire gauge to measure the gap, gently. The electrode is extremely hard and also very brittle and will snap off easily. If you do mess them up single plugs can be had at www.sparkplugs.com Here is a link to a "how to" on changing the plugs. Give yourself 2-4 hrs to change them: http://www.svtlightnings.com/svt/sparkplugs/plugs.htm
I would add a 3/8" universal to his list of tools for the passenger rear plug.
