GRRRRRRR!!!!! I just chased after some jerkoff who tried to steal my stereo out of of my lightning!!! In the process of trying to steal it he broke the damn thing and cracked the hell out of the dash pad around it!!! How hard is it to replace the dashpad and how much does the part cost??? Does ford still carry it? Any info that you guys can give me will be a ton of help!!
Thanks, John

My dad was just in a wreck with his truck and the dash was cracked in the process. He found a very nice used one at a salvage yard for I believe $250.00. He said it was a deal. If you find a used one you may have to have it refinished. If memory serves me right the gray is different with the different years. It is a time consuming job, but most of the things will only back in one way. Take some good notes upon disassembling it and you should be ok. If something doesn't feel right. Dont' force it. As flexible as some plastics are, our dashes seem to be pretty fragile.

Good Luck and I hope you/ they caught the perp. As I've said before I'd just love to catch someone vandalizing or stealing something. I hate thieves.

If you are talking about the padded peice that goes around the stereo and across to the passenger side, that peice should be available at a salvage. You might have to hunt to find one thats not cracked. I got one in mint condition at a salvage for $30.00. to replace it you have to remove the glove box and the stereo. There are approx 8 studs that stick out of the part. Remove those nuts and you are home free.

I picked up one from ford for about 90 something bucks. They had to order it.Ive been broke into THREE times. Two time in my previous Lightning and once in my current one.I just really hate a thief.

I just got a complete extra dash on eBay for $63.00 and it is missing that pad and the 93 I just got is missing it to. So whatever you find out let me know I need to get on for the 94 dash and one for the 93 dash.

I checked the local wrecking yards today and I found quite a few used red and blue dash pads for $35...but no grey!:m So I decided to order a brand new one from ford for $112 bucks. It sounds expensive compared to the $35 one that could be painted but I didn't want to deal with future problems like chipping, etc.
