Could converter throw off shift points?

Hi Guys, Ever since I've gotten my Level10 converter, my truck has been shifting very early at part throttle. I know a lock-up stall converter should not affect shift points, but I didn't have this problem before I put it in. If I just give it a little gas, I can be in 4th gear doing 30mph. Or If I give it no gas I can idle into 2nd gear. Whats up with that? The only other possibility is the FMS mass air kit. This could change the shift points too right? But I had the kit on before the converter and it ran great. It's really pissing me off, to the point where I dont want to drive it. The only thing keeping me going is that it shifts great at full throttle.:) Thanks for any help,
Bud

I'm no expert at this but it almost sonds like the trans in limp mod where your line pressure is always at its highest. Does the trans shift hard all the time, like the truck is at full throttle? If so you may be getting so false readings at you PC.

Ray, truck shifts normal at part throttle. Another thing I neglected to mention is, it's late downshifts. When I pull up to a light the truck seems to still be in second gear until I comepletely stop, Then and only then you can feel it drop into 1st. Anyone else have an idea?????

I noticed that after I installed my converter I had to massage lockup and shift points to get it to "feel" right.

The only thing that is a bit concerning is that you mention you come to a stop and then feel it downshift, that might be the converter unlocking, does the engine want to die ?

I would call Pat at Level 10, he can answer your questions much better.

Do you have a chip ?
