Clock Spring Replacement Q's

svt450

Has Seller's regret
Hey everyone!

A friend of mine is looking at a 94 L to buy. The cruise and horn don't work. I think it is the clock spring thing right???
Exactly how hard and how much $$$ is involved in fixing this problem???

Thanks!

Jason

The clock spring will run about 80-90 bucks. I haven't done one on a lightning, but I'm sure they're pretty much the same as all f150s. There's a few wires that run down and into the back that can be tricky, but nothing too hard. Make sure to disconnect the battery and be careful when removing the airbag. Wouldn't want it blowing up

The part thru the dealer will retal for around 100.00. Pretty easy replacement. Unhook battery, remove air bag from steering wheel, remove steering wheel , pull cover from bottom of column, pull key cylinder, remove screws, unplug clock spring assy. Reinstall in reverse. If i remember correctly there are some instructions that come with the new part. Its probably a 45 min job.

HEy guys quick ? for you. My wifes Windstar backup lights and cruise control won't work, both are on the same fuse and it keeps blowing, do you think it could be the clock spring?
