Ok here it is, I need some opinions...
I just got a 2# pulley. I have a K & N panel filter and a street chip. I need to know:

1. can I install the pulley before I get chip reburned, will it be ok?
2. run without chip, just pulley while chip is getting reburn
3. just wait and get chip reburned before installing pulley

by the way I'm going to a dyno on saturday 3/02/02

thanks for your opinions, I know I can count on you people!!:D :D .....................JR

I dont think it would hurt to run just the pulley. You would not get maximum power with out the chip though.Listen for detonation and if any occurs just baby the truck until the chip arrives.I had to send my chip back(detonation)and i didnt have any trouble running just the pulley but i was very easy on the truck-no wot.

1. Absolutely :D
2. Yes :)
3. No-way, run it now. :tu:

A 2lb pulley on a stock truck is not a big deal, don't get me wrong it will run real nice, but the truck can handle it with no problems. Dale :w

Dale,
I just read about your truck, that really sucks... sorry to hear about it. Thanks for the advice, think I'll put the pulley on friday if I don't have to work. See ya Saturday..........JR:tu:

JDM told me that the stock chip will work fine with a 2# pulley. Your chip tuner may have differing advice. Any program should know to add more fuel based on boost, so it shouldn't be an issue. Call your chip tuner for more specific advice. Use good gas, if you start to hear detonation, TAKE YOUR FOOT OFF OF THE GAS.

I don't think running a 2# pulley without a chip will harm your truck. However...

If I were paying for dyno time, I think I would wait until I got a proper chip burn for the pulley. It seams to me to be a waste of time and money to get 'possibly-erronious' dyno numbers.

Just my .02.

Jake...
